Privacy Policy
Last updated: 19 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Strata handles personal data when you use the Strata iOS app, website, support channels, account controls, subscriptions, exports, and research workflows.
1. Who operates Strata and how to contact us
Strata is operated by Dr. September Quan Liu, CFA.
For support, privacy questions, data-rights requests, or account-deletion help, contact strataairesearch@gmail.com.
2. Personal data we process
Depending on how you use Strata, we may process account and identity data, including email address, display name, internal account identifiers, linked sign-in methods, authentication state, and session records.
We also process workspace settings, report inputs, generated reports, saved research history, watchlist items, recent activity, export jobs, privacy requests, support messages, subscription state, credits, entitlement history, and App Store transaction references needed to restore and manage access.
3. Where personal data comes from
Most data comes directly from you when you create an account, sign in, submit report inputs, save research, contact support, generate an export, or request deletion.
Some subscription and entitlement data comes from Apple when you subscribe, restore purchases, cancel, renew, or when subscription lifecycle events are reconciled with the service.
4. How we use personal data
We use personal data to provide and secure the app, authenticate users, preserve workspace history, generate and export reports, manage credits, reconcile subscriptions, handle support, and respond to privacy or deletion requests.
For users in the UK and EEA, the main legal bases are performance of a contract, compliance with legal obligations, and legitimate interests in operating, securing, improving, supporting, and protecting the service.
5. Service providers and sharing personal data
We may disclose data to service providers that help host, operate, secure, support, and maintain Strata. Current launch infrastructure may include Apple for App Store subscription management, Google Cloud and Firebase for hosting and backend infrastructure, and OpenAI for report-generation workflows.
We may also disclose data where required by law, regulators, law-enforcement authorities, professional advisers, or counterparties involved in legal, fraud-prevention, billing, or security matters.
6. Advertising and tracking
The current iOS build does not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking, and App Tracking Transparency is not active.
If optional analytics, marketing, or additional consent-based features are added later, the app and this policy should be updated before those features are used.
7. Keeping and deleting personal data
We keep personal data for as long as needed to provide the service, preserve report history, manage credits and subscriptions, respond to support or privacy requests, comply with legal obligations, and maintain auditability for billing, refunds, fraud prevention, security, and dispute handling.
You can export account data and delete your account from Settings > Privacy & Account where workspace conditions permit it. Shared-workspace owners may need to transfer ownership or remove pending invites before deletion can complete.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or port certain personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
You can use the in-app privacy controls for export and deletion, or email strataairesearch@gmail.com for other data-rights requests.
9. Processing personal data internationally
Strata may use infrastructure and service providers that process data outside your country of residence. Where required, appropriate safeguards will be used for restricted transfers.
10. Complaints
If you are in the UK, you may have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. If you are in the EEA, you may have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.
We encourage you to contact Strata first so we can try to resolve the issue directly.
